Day 1
Arrive at Caracas Airport, where you will be met by one of our local representatives and transferred to your hotel nearby.
Overnight: Marriott Playa Grande – Conveniently located close to the Airport. This hotel offers well appointed rooms, with Ocean views as well as good facilities.
Day 2
This morning you will be transferred back to the Airport, for your onward flight to Maturin, in the east of Venezuela. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Boca de Uracoa, where you will be transferred by Speedboat in to the forests of the Orinoco Delta and your lodge where you will stay for the next three nights.
Overnight: Orinoco Delta Lodge - Located on the banks of one of the main channels of the Orinoco Delta. This rustic but comfortable lodge is a great base for exploring the wildlife and unique culture of the Orinoco Delta Region (B/L/D)
Days 3, 4
There are a number of different excursions which are included in your stay one of which is visiting one of the local Warao Indian communities and enjoying the local handicrafts made from local sourced materials. Throughout the day you will explore this region and the many channels by speedboat, with the opportunity to stop along the way and maybe enjoy a jungle walk, try your hand at catching a piranha, or, if your luck is in, you may even get chance upon pink dolphins which frequent these winding waterways.
Overnight: Orinoco Delta Lodge (B/L/D)
Day 5
You will be taken by boat back to Boca de Uracoa, where you will be met and transferred to Ciudad Bolivar, approximately 1.5 hours away. Upon arrival you will be taken straight to your hotel. After you have settled in, you will be met by a guide, who will give you a walking tour of the city on the banks of the Orinoco River. The city is very historical and retains many of its original, colonial buildings and is small enough to walk around in a short time.
Overnight: Posada Casa Grande – Located just two blocks from the banks of the Orinoco River, this boutique hotel is a real gem. Small but well appointed rooms in an old colonial mansion (B/L/D)
Day 6
This morning you will be met and transferred to the Airport, from where you will board your flight by light aircraft to Canaima, the base for visiting Angel Falls – the highest waterfall in the world! Upon arrival in Canaima, you will be met and transferred to your lodge. After
you’ve settled in and enjoyed lunch, you will be taken on an excursion to Salto el Sapo, which is located across Laguna Canaima. Prepare to get wet, as you will walk on a ledge, behind the Waterfall!
Overnight: Waku Lodge – Situated on the shores of the Canaima Lagoon, the accommodation is clean and comfortable, with Air Conditioning. The lodge offers all meals, as well as free internet access from a computer located in the lodges bar area (B/L/D)
Day 7
This morning you will depart at around 4:30am for your transfer to Puerto Ucaima, which is on the upper part of the waterfalls. You will be taken by a “Curiara” – a type of Canoe along the Carrao River, until you reach Isla Orquidea. Along the way admire the views of the surrounding Tepuys – mountains with flat-tops. This area inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write “The Lost World”. After approximately 90 minutes of travel, you will stop for a relaxing breakfast, before continuing on for another 2-hours, until you reach the base camp located on Isla Ratón. From here you have an enjoyable trek through the jungle for approximately one hour until you reach Mirador Laime. It is worth the effort as the view of Angel Falls from here is spectacular!
Afterwards, you will return to the base camp where you will have lunch, before returning through the jungle, back to Canaima with a brief stop at Salto El Sapo.

Day 8
This morning you transfer back to the airstrip where you catch your flight to Puerto Ordaz and then onwards to Caracas. Met upon arrival you continue by road to Choroni enjoying the cloud forests of Henri Pittier National Park along the way. Twisting up through the bamboo forests, the road finally descends to the Caribbean coast and the quiet village of Choroni. Beyond Choroni is Puerto Colombia, a fishing village which remains sleepy during the week, but comes alive at the weekends when visitors from the major cities flock here to enjoy the nearby Beach of Playa Grande!
Overnight: Posada Casa de las Garcias – Located in between the villages of Choroni and Puerto Colombia, this charming hotel is part of an old hacienda and features a new swimming pool and bar, together with a restaurant (B/D)
Day 9
Today you will be given a guided tour through Henri Pittier National Park, which is alos home to some first class birding. Other highlights include a visit to Sugar, Banana and Cacao plantations or just simply enjoying the many waterfalls and pools dotted throughout the Park.
Spend the rest of your day at leisure or relaxing back at your hotel.

Days 10, 11
The next two days are yours to spend at your leisure. Choroni and Puerto Colombia are both small villages, which feature lots of interesting colonial architecture. Alternatively relax on the pristine Playa Grande beach or swim in the crystal clear waters set to the backdrop of the lush green hills of Henri Pittier National Park.

Day 12
Today you leave tranquil Playa Grande and make your way back to Caracas in time for your onward international flight back home (B)
